What Airlines Have Planes In A Sports Team Livery

I know America West has the Suns, Diamondbacks, and the Cardinals and Southwest has one in a NBA theme also I think TWA had a Rams one. The Dolphins have one but isn't it private and only for the owners use.

Although they didn't cover the entire aircraft, Air New Zealand aircraft is/were sporting a special livery for their rugby team. I know that Japan Airlines did the same with their soccer (football) team on a 747 and Qantas with the "Formula One" racing theme 747.

LTU have at least 4 Football (Soccer) club teams represented (

AeroFlight had Eintracht Frankfurt Football Club on an A320

Braniff had a Dallas Cowboys 727-200

Alaska had a Seattle Seahawks 727-200

Air Canada had an A320 in the Toronto Raptors colors

British Airways has a couple of planes with the "Official Airline of the English Football Team"

Numerous planes have worn Bafana Bafana titles for the South African national team

LTU have 3.......Hertha Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach. They do have partnerships with others, including Schalke 04 and TSV 1860 Munich, but no Aircraft are painted in these colours.

That was a long time ago, for the 1999 Rugby World Cup, so its long gone Hopfully NZ will do the same on some of their International and Domestic fleet for the 2011 cup that New Zealand is hosting

Does OzJet's B732s with their airline F1 racing colours count?

This list is based on my understanding that it is a sport theme rather a specific sport team. My apologies if I have been mistaken.

Qatar Airways currently has an A330-300 and an A330-200 painted in a special Asian Games 2006 special livery.

Air Macau has an A321 in a special East Asian Games 2005 livery and the rest of their fleet sports the games logo.

Air China has two B737-700s in a special Olympic Games 2008 livery.

South African Airways previously had a B747-312 named Ndizani to commemorate the country's participation in the Atlanta Olympic Games.

Malaysia Airlines also had an A330-300 bearing a little sticker marking its role as the sponsoring carrier for Real Madrid's Asia Tour in 2004 (9M-MKC if I am not mistaken)

Vietnam Airlines has one A320 in a SEA Games 2003 livery (S7-ASI).

Lufthansa currently has all types of aircraft sporting a "football nose" to publicise Germany's hosting of the World Cup 2006. Emirates is also a sponsor and carries the games emblem on some of their aircraft.

Ansett Australia applied "Sydney 2000" markings on a B747-300, a B747-400, an A320 and additionally applied special marking on an B767 for its Olympic Torch Relay role.

There must be many many more aircraft with a sports theme.

I know that Independence Air is the official airline of the Washington Redskins but I don't think any aircraft are painted in a theme.

The Hertha BSC logo jet wears RCD Mallorca livery now.

The Delta Olympic-themed examples ("Soaring Spirit") deserve a mention. It's interesting that the Games ended up in two of their hubs (ATL and SLC) so close together.

Remember the good ol' days when sports teams had their own aircraft?

Oops !! Typical, Hertha Gone ! They should have done one in Konigs Blau for the super Schalke 04 ! I guess a Spanish team is good PR though !
