Hello-
Tomorrow, I was supposed to go to Witchita to see my realitives, but something happened. Now I have a $162 flight voucher on UA and a $272 voucher on CO. If you could go anywhere in the US with those vouchers, where would you go to spot? My dad feels so bad that he is offering to take me somewhere to spot for a couple of days. So where do you say? Hey, this may be better thna seeing my hick realitives!

Definitely LAX! Great variety of airlines and aircraft, including many widebodies. Only JFK compares, but it is not too spotter-friendly these days. Let us know about your trip when you return.

Try Los Angeles. You have lots of local airports to spot at too. Burbank, John Wayne, Long Beach etc.

I forgot to mention. I can't go to LAX because I am going in late July to see my uncle, so I'll go then. So think of non-SoCal airports. Thanks for your help so far!

I'd have to say JFK, I have been there a variety of times, and plane watching is great. The best plane watchin is right out of the airport by the runway, there is a road by a beach. I see everything land there like AF and BA concordes, Qantas 747's, Northwest 747's, Korean Air 747's, Lufthansa 747's, Kuwait Airlines A340's, and more. The planes by the beach our super low, and a great place to spot planes!

I agree with Continental. JFK affords the best selection of planes in the US, and that road by the beach is spectacular. You are also real close to LGA, which is very spotter friendly, and EWR, which is a reasonable drive away.

My pick would go to Miami, with over 100 airlines serving there its never a dull moment. At dinner time go to the "94th Aerosquadren" Its a great resturant right off the runway where you can watch the international flights leave plus have a nice dinner. Also, its not a far drive to the beach to rest up for more plane spotting.

I think Miami is your best choice. You could see over 100 airliners and almost every kind of planes.the beach is not far and the resteraunt near the runway is great.
