Couldn't believe it when I saw these...I'm not sure whether I'd prefer these for a regular couch...it'd be kind of neat for an entertainment room with a projection screen TV....better yet....flying Flight Simulator on a projection screen tv!

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem

I have some leather first class seats from the Braniff 'Big Orange', N601BN. They're great for watching 'Miami Vice' and enjoying a glass of wine! Every time I see a pic of that bird, I think of how my seats were in there. Imagine the meals that were eaten there: back in the day, BN was renowned for its cuisine.

"BEAUTIFUL FABRIC IN GREAT CONDITION. "
I'm sure it's anything but "beautiful fabric". When was the last time you were in an economy seat thinking, "Gee this is beautiful fabric!"?

Mine came on a tractor trailer from CLE. Cost $200 to ship, but that was cheaper than renting a van to go get them . They wouldn't have fit into either of my cars.

LH has adverts in its inflight magazine for old seats. I read this while sitting in an A343 after about 12hrs en route to MUC from ORD and I wouldn't want a LH A343 Y seat if they were giving it away. For some reason they are the hardest seats on earth. Their A306 and a320s and 737s seem to have real seats but not the A343!!!

There are occasionally domestic 1st class seats on ebay and some custom refurb places (www.motoart.com). Other than that, I'd imagine that a random used Y class seat would be more useful as a conversation starter than an actual piece of furniture.
I'm wondering when the current crop of internation business and 1st class seats will start showing up for sale. For as much as we complain about airline seats, those things are just as comfortable as your average lazyboy ... i'd love to snag one!
With LH, AA, AF and others re-confirguring their biz class sections with the new lie-flat "shell" seats, I wonder if the time is right to get some of the older intl. biz/first class ones on the cheap!

Where do you see these things for sale? Do you contact the airline directly? How much does it cost? I'd love to see some pics of these seats you guys have bought in your living rooms! Don't they look kind of strange or out of place?
