I've just been checking SkyEurope fares from Dublin over the festive period and can't believe what they're quoting.

DUB-KRK outbound 15 Dec inbound 05 Jan: €928 incl tax
DUB-BTS outbound 23 Dec inbound 06 Jan: €848 incl tax

A record for a European LCC?

Wow, that's pretty high for an LCC, I'll agree with that...can't help you with regards to any records, but I sure as heck know I wouldn't pay that to go to Krakow and Bratislava...nice cities, but, not that nice  Wink

Even for Christmas that seems kinda rich - back in November I was looking at SNN-Warsaw with CentralWings after christmas with fares of about EUR380 rtn. I thought that was high!!

Next Flight: DUB-BOS (EI), BOS-DEN-PDX (SWA), SEA-BOS (AS)

I forgot to mention that my roomate and I are flying DUB - SXF and HAM - DUB in a few weeks on EI for something like 50 euro's...granted, we booked back in August or September, but...you may want to look at Aer Lingus...perhaps WAW, out of VIE

If pax dont pay those sorts of prices airlines wouldn't charge them, but as long as people are prepared to pay these sorts of prices airlines will charge them. Fair play to the airlines, it's just good business sense.

I think SkyEurope are being a bit opportunistic. They have sold out a number of flights over Christmas and these flights probably only have one or two seats left. So they've set a skyhigh fare and will wait and see if anyone is desperate enough to pay it. Centralwings have sold out a lot flights from DUB too (particularly Wroclaw) and EI seem to have sold out a number of KRK flights. All the Poles heading home for Christmas. Don't think many can afford the fares I quoted at the start of the thread though! Personally I'd spend the money on a couple of trips to DXB  Smile

Well, people should start flying full service airlines.

For example, CSA czech airlines is on the route DUB-KRK via PRG 560 Euro all in
and on DUB-BTS via PRG 521.66 EURO all in.

Next Flight: Oct 10: PRG-MUC-KIV EMB 195/CRJ 900, Oct 12: KIV-MUC-PRG CRJ900/EMB 195 wiht Lufthansa

A bit? Too much, indeed. With €928 you can fly LAN from MAD to GYE (Ecuador) even in Business Class with a Special Fare
