Hi everyone-
I'm flying from EWR to AMS in two weeks. I know that I'll be on an A330, but I was wondering if PH-AOD will be delivered by then. I know that AOA AOB and AOC are flying now, but haven't seen AOD yet... Any idea when it or the rest of the A330 fleet will be delivered?

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

Nick

The delivery schedule of the remaining A330s is:
PH-AOD (738) April 2005
PH-AOE (770) August 2006
PH-AOF (801) December 2006
PH-AOH February 2007
PH-AOI March 2007

No AOD in two weeks....maybe next time?

How many A330s are they getting? I thought they were only getting 6, but now it seems 8.... are these all bought or are some of these leased?

I haven't flown on KLM's A330-200 yet but I have flown on their B777-200s four times already. If you have not yet experienced KLMs great new product and service on-board the B777-200s and A330-200s you are in for a treat! The IFE is great, the seats are pretty comfortable, there is a nice seat pitch, the food is pretty good, and the service is amazing!

Out of the many times I have flown over the Atlantic on various airlines I would have to say KLM has to have the best service!

Enjoy your trip!

I did happen to see PH-AOA, PH-AOB, and PH-AOC at AMS between my connections and they looked beautiful!

The last two will be leased from ILFC.
There are rumours that KLM is planning to convert some of the 18 options they have.

Ah, forgot to correct that after copying and pasting the info! You're right, of course

Saw PH-AOA at AMS the other week. Very smart. The A320 would look stunning in the new KLM colours - but there seems no chance of ever seeing it.  Sad

Plans, as for now, are that when the next airbus will be delivered(april06)
this route will be next to be flown by A332!

A friend who is a crew member on KLM said the Airbus A330 made the Boeing 767 embarrassing. I made the point with her that the Boeing 767's are quite old and as far as I know KLM have not upgraded the 76's cabin style? (over head lockers etc to make them look like the Boeing 777's).

She said that she keeps on flying to KIAD as that now a Airbus A330 route?

I will miss seeing the Boeing 767 in those blue shades  Sad I cant help but feel that my national airline (BA) must be reviewing their 76 fleet, I hope they go for a cabin upgrade and keep them in service for as many years as possible  Smile

On the KL employee website they made that mistake and we all copy it without noticing  Embarrassment

Thanks AMSSFO.... so 6 will be owned, 2 leased.... that's where I was confused... and they have 18 options.... wow... I do hope they excersise their options, as the best available aircraft under the size of a B777 is the A330... and I must say, it looks amazing in KLM c/s as the A330 sure is the best looking wide-body twin around!
I only wish they would order the A380, it would be the best c/s! But that is not happening...

IIRC, the last 767 will leave KLM early 2007. So they will not upgrade the cabin for a useful period of 1 year and a half.

They are actually doing that and some are already flying. In this thread there are pictures of it:

http://www.airliners.net/discussions...general_aviation/read.main/2462569

They have the new seats (lie-flat business seats as the 772 and 744), World Traveler + in a 2-2-2 and World Traveler in a 2-3-2, all PTV's. They did not replace the overhead lockers.

Hi

Sorry I meant the over head lockers upgrade, too the style of the Boeing 77... I have flown on the upgraded (class wise) BA Boeing 767, I thought they had done a good job of the Club seats, it felt more cozy then the Boeing 77 and Boeing 74.

I did have a little panic when I saw BA was still using the DAT tape system on the IFE but as the CSM (very close friend pointed out) it a system that hardly ever breaks down.

Does anyone know of the KLM A330 is operating on the KIAD & KEWR route each day?

Does anyone know what are the names of the future A332s?

I know we have three so far - Potsdamer Platz, Dam Amsterdam, and Place de la Concorde.

KL's 767's arent that old, in fact they have some of the youngest.....

anyway they indeed arent upgraded

and i dont think they will convert any option anytime soon, since KLM just announced theire fleet plan...

(3 F-100's, 2 737-800's , 2 777's (making a total of 18) , 1 747-400ERF , and soon big NG order for 737-300/400 replacement)
