I was wondering what the maximum range of an A333 was for it to remain economically viable, meaning no weight restrictions. The Airbus website gives a range with max pax of 5,650nm. Great circle shows that with such a range all of Northern and Western Europe would be A333 territory from LAX for example, yet I cannot think of any airlines using it on such a route. I have read many threads on here which have stated the A333 cannot be used on such routes and remain competitive. The last similar thread stated that the LAX was sole A332 territory for EI, as their A333's found ORD 'hard going'.

NW flys it SEA-AMS with no problems. It is 4146nm.
FRA-PHX is 4898nm. Not sure with range, but the PHX heat could be a big problem.
NW has flew a couple asian routes with it a couple times when the 330-200 was broke. But that is about the same as SEA-AMS in distance.

NW in its website says something like 4300nm for a 233K MTOW A333, CI 4000nm for a 230K A333
