Market Planning is a department that researches exisitng & ongoing renvenue boarding stats for passengers and freight carriage by carriers currently operating. It also involves revenue optimization stats for current traffic & potential traffic in markets. Ultimately deciding where & when a carrier enters a market with city pairs.

Since I won't be in the customer service department I probably won't have any say as to who is chosen for those select postions. what I can tell you is to apply on line now with Virgin America. Update your resume' or application often, and remember if you get a call or contact letter, be Creative, Don't be Modest, be knowledgeable about the Virgin Companies, be knowledgeable about who Virgin America actually is (no its not even 35% Richard Branson), and take with a grain of salt what some naysayers would have to condemn this company-(you will be asked during an interview about this).

Believe me it is a "REAL" company.
Jacob, yes I will be working out of the Headquarters in Burlingame about 12 days per month, and the remainder I will be traveling or working from my home office in Sun Valley.

What relationship will Virgin America have with the other "Virgin" airlines (Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria and Virgin Blue)? Are they all owned or ran by Richard Branson? What routes are Virgin American looking at flying?
Flying is the second greatest thrill known to mankind, landing is the first!

"Hype"? That is what many said about Jet Blue, MaxJet, Independence Air, and Frontier before they started as well.... ..This airline is going to be something, if I was the boys at United Airlines, I would seriously be scratching my head about now..

KAHALA777
My expression "HYPE" was in relation to the fact that they came in with "some" fan fare and then for the longest time nothing and really now with the exception of a few press releases and an updated web page, still nothing. Talk is cheap.

Kahala, you are earning a very dubious reputation for always being wrong. MAXjet has been operating for less than two months, nowhere near enough time to see if their business plan will be successful, Independence Air is on life support, and Frontier's creation was more-or-less a non-event to everyone who didn't live in Denver because their original business was to not be noticed! The only airline I'll give you is jetBlue, and they are still cherry-picking markets and enjoying the benefits of brand new aircraft. Give reality some time to sink in. While you're waiting, school yourself on the biz.
