Following the closing of their Miami hub, Iberia reduced Miami-Madrid service from 2x to 1x daily. Starting this summer, however, Iberia will be offering 11x weekly Miami-Madrid service. The second frequency will operate with an A340-300 4x a week starting 2 July 2006. It is currently not bookable past the end of the summer timetable, but expect that to change (especially considering winter is a busier travel period). Schedule:

IB 6120 MIA 2020-1040 MAD MoTuFrSu 343
IB 6121 MAD 1500-1825 MIA MoTuFrSu 343

Is the daily flight an A346?

I think so...

My cousin is flying on an A346 next Dec. 24th coming from MAD....

Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous!

There maybe have been a 744 sub, but MIA was operated with a 743 during the summer. The 743s are gone, and, IIRC, the last 744s will be returning to their lessors in February or March, making Iberia's long-haul fleet all Airbus A340s.

Let's see if this can help their nightmare bag transfer in MIA! It is just incredible how many bags IB6123 leaves behind!

This is the typical high-season increase. When low season back again, with the IB and AA daily flight is enough. Thanks for this info, MAH4546.

Summer is low-season, not high-season, for Miami-Europe. We'll see what happens, but they didn't do it this past summer.
