737-100 Still Operated?

Hi-

I was searching through my book of commercial airlines, which dates back to 1996. I can't remember the name exactly, and I am too lazy to go check, but it listed many airlines using the 737-100. Delta and Continental and others. I thought these were all gone? More...?

I think American West stll operates their 737-100.

But I think that Continental was retired their 737-100.

Correct. "Cactus" does still have one 737-100 still in service. A friend of mine interned with them and flew on the bird. A bit of flying history!

Faucett Peru (1)
Mexican Air Force (1)

All others are out of service, stored, written off, or on display somewhere.

The America West 737-100 that remains in service is the Phoenix Suns team plane. I've seen it at IAD, OAK, SLC, and PDX.

I saw it to when I was at Oakland a few months ago.
It is sure small.

I read about the HP 737-100 a while ago. I remember reading that it holds about 76 people and it has extra leg room for the basketball players. It is chartered for them for their games and in the off season, they use it between Phoenix and Tucson I think. Please Correct me if I'm wrong!
