I know that this has been occuring for a few months now with Mesa bringing CR9's out to the East Coast in HP-X livery, but I had not yet seen one at ORF until last night when I was coming in UA 7951.
I'm wondering how many people got confused when they looked out the window this morning for their flight to CLT or PHL and said, "Hey! I'm not flying American West!!" =P

Right you are. Good call.
This is actually a really good thing then for US at ORF, because it means they are rebuilding if they are bringing in more 70 seaters and now needing 90 seaters for the Express flights.
It wasn't even until recently that ORF started seeing E70's and CR7's.

We get some 90 seaters here in Wilmington, NC ILM. on low yield push times. for winter. then back to the 733/4's in spring/summer/fall. wonder when thes will get painted? funny. they king of look like f100's they are long.
And that idea of sending HPx RJ900s to the east coast to fly USx routes is actually giving us a bugger. One flight goes CLT-IAH and is routinely late, which affects our night flight IAH-LAS and puts a hamper on our operations.

Most of the CR9 are fairly new and probably won't get the new paint until their next heavy check, just like the mainline aircraft.
FYI...N679AW just came online today, first HP aircraft in the new paint.
Actually it was online since at least yesterday, saw it hanging around in the A concourse getting ready to go to YYZ. I wanted to go see the interiors but I wasn't able to get to the plane in time... I am just going to guess they still have HP seats in them and they're still delivering them with all leather though.

For those commenting on the American West thing, it was a joke. Sarcasm. Humor.
ORF is plagued by infrequent flyers who don't know their ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to aviation.

The birds in the HP colors are not waiting until their heavy checks, they're hoping to have them all done by end 2006.
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.
