okay...
closer to cities-IAH
busier-DFW
bigger hub-DFW
more airlines-IAH
better reviews-DFW-i am not sure if i am correct, please correct me.
bigger airport(in terms of area)-DFW
bigger expansion plans-DFW
more non-stop flights-IAH-please correct if i am wrong
more Int'l destinations-DFW
more runways-DFW
more widebodies-DFW or IAH, about the same
more traffic-DFW
more delays-not sure

I like DFW a lot because it is a very nice airport and is well taken care of even though it is going to be a mess in not too long from now since DFW is undergoing a "summer cleaning/slight renovation" there are several good spotting places in and around the airport.aswell as at night in terminal B,looking at the cargo OPS. there are plenty of good restaurants around the terminals, aswell as being safe and being able to handle the average business traveler with connections and all. plus the terminals are easy and not sophisticated. those are only a few things also

Granted I am a bit biased here, but I can point out that DFW is much more prone to weather delays than IAH

"DFW is much more prone to weather delays than IAH" i am not so sure about that, late last month my cousin's friend was on a flight LGW-DFW DFW-IAH, both of them were on the LGW-DFW leg but her friend lives in houston and there was bad weather in dallas but the reason for the delay was the horrible weather in houston, the plane she went on was delayed since 3 Pm (at this time,it is about 8) and everyone had left that was on the flight, her plane was supposed to get in at 10-cuz of the horrible houston weather but luckily, she got on the earlier flight, those delays were because of houston, not dallas.

Mr/Ms Blink 182..I don't recall saying IAH does NOT have weather delays, just fewer of them then DFW. I'm sure that somewhere on the WWW there are stats that would confirm this.

I would say its a tie for me. The two factors that set them off are, DFW is easier to get around with the trAAin and other trams, but I have been delayed many times through there due to traffic (there was about 10 planes in front of us to take off). I like IAH cause its not so busy but its not real easy to walk that far to get to your connecting gate. So I would say its a tie.

For me, IAH is the better spotting and photo-op airport. All of the parking garages offer excellent views of aircraft and gate areas.

DFW is kind of tricky because the only official observation area is on the southeast corner of the field, and there's no real elevated places to watch aircraft.

I use to hate DFW with a passion. I was always delayed when I flew through there, I stopped going to DFW all together. The terminal was not the cleanest of places-the Delta one anyway. However DFW is bigger and busier than IAH-more widebodies-not as many International flights. I think its easier to connect at IAH than DFW as well. DFW doesn't suck, but it is not one of my favorite airports. If you must fly International go IAH-domestic both are about tied.
Don't mean to offend any Dallasites out there, but this Houstonian is sticking to IAH and Hobby.

Off topic-have any of you seen the master plans for Hobby and IAH? Pretty nice.

1. I'm a Dallasite who prefers IAH; like the airport and, as an added bonus, it is not dominated by AA (although I hear that CO has gotten alittle bit cockier since I moved away from Houston)

2. Where can one examine the Hobby and IAH master plans you referenced?

go to www.houstonaviation.org then go to photos under either airport. The websites are dated, but the photos are there. I went to the groundbreaking of the Hobby Terminal a few weeks ago.

New improvements in IAH, what I would say is better ATC ops, No speed limit below 10,000 feet most of the time, large capital spending by CO, Gee, I say IAH!
