Summerschedule have just been finalised at KLM.
Starting may 29th 2006, KLM will start flying to CTU in China.
So it's not AF out of CDG but KL out of AMS that will open this line, as was
rumoured.
They will fly AMS-CTU three times a week with B772ER.

This is great news for AF/KL ! I really thought AF was going to open this one... maybe they will even though it makes more sense to open another city now that KL is opening Chengdu.
Looking forward to other new cities from AF/KL !
BTW KLMCedric, do you know how the Amsterdam-Hyderabad service is working for KL ?

KLMCedric, I believe it was discussed in the forum earlier this month that AF was looking at Chengdu as well. I am looking forward to seeing what new city/cities they open in 2006 !

Quoting AF022 (Reply 8): Sorry to be so ignorant, but is there something in Chengdu to go after? Traffic? Industry?
One reason might be because Chengdu is a major connecting point in Western China. It serves as the main hub for connecting flights to Lhasa in Tibet, and Chongqing (where all of the Yangtze River cruises start or end).

KLMCedric,
Do you have any idea when those flights will be open for sale in Amadeus?

AF was indeed supposed to open Chengdu from CDG.
But with the second DAILY flights to PEK, and all other flights to China going also Daily, AF has to negociate more Traffic rights, and was not authorized to open a new destination for the moment.
Actually, AF plans to open again another unveiled destination in China in 2007 (Xian ?).
