I doubt it, but where is the damage to which you refer?

Its right behind the shine on the closest main gear tire. It just appears to be where the plane may have landed a bit harder and is therefore slightly more worn then the rest of the tire. But its likely not as bad as it looks in the picture, the light will reflect a little more of smoother surfaces then dull ones. The tires are good until wires start to show, then it needs to be replaced.

Those are hoses or linkage that protrude out from between the two tires on each main gear.

Given the speed at which the tires are rotating, and the shutter speed (which resulted in blurred static structures near the runway/taxiway), you would never be able to make out wear spots that are being described.

Is it not just some object on the gear assembly in between the 2 tyres. The same object appears on the far gear assembly too.

Right. Between the two tires on each main gear leg.

Hydraulic lines and no damage.

Right. Between the two tires on each main gear leg.

I've had a quick look in the database and can't see what they actually are though. They don't seem to appear on this particular aircraft or any other A319 that I've had a quick ganders at. But I would be inclined to agree with you along the lines of hoses/linkages.

Sean

Here are the best examples I can come up with on short notice...not great examples, but you can see hoses:

I've often seen bald patches on tires, it's nothing unusual, not sure what is the right time to change a tire though... on a plane that is.

BTW, That's what a Canon 20D can do! What a quality!
