This site has already been discussed though. However, its still a good site. That spiral staircase may look good, but I just wonder how many airlines will really have it put in.

Wait, don't all 747s already have the spiral staircases? The spiral staircases have been a trademark of the 747 ever since it came out.

747-100's and 200's have spiral stairs, but 300's and 400's don't.

I'm not dumb. I just have a command of thoroughly useless information.

Nice Web site, true, but in the video you see only two 747 pictures, and the rest looks like beer or car publicity.

Is there any better one with more technical information?

I like the web site, cool music, really draws you in! I like how the compare the A380 possible airports with the B747-8. That might be important for some airlines. Now if they could only sell some passenger 747-8's that would be super nice.

The stairs on the 747-800 are straight staircases with an added piece of step wrapping around the center column for aesthetics.

I think all 300 and 400 pax versions had the straight staircase as shown here

It's seems a bit OTT. Great for marketing purposes though! Reminds me of casinos, gyms, shopping malls, bowling alleys....all stuff that we're definitely going to see on the A380! . Or is this sleeping area for the crew and thus out of reach for us mere mortals?!

Regards,

Feroze

I don't think any of Boeing's graphic/web design work is done in-house. The design firm I used to work at was doing some kiosk and flash work for the 787 a few months ago.

Boeing makes some pretty remarkable claims of better operating costs both on a trip basis and per seat than the A380. If the claims are true, I guess Airbus can compensate with a reduced purchase price.

Well, you CAN get spiral staircases if you want, but you are limited as to how many passengers can be on the upperdeck because of evacuation requirements

Except of course that the 748 will cost FAR less to develop than the A380
