When MOL said that in Dublin Airport pax are treated like third world passengers, I laughed at him, but now I'm not laughing anymore. Today flying back home (ABZ FR182), we (me ,brother and dad) checked in an hour and 10 minutes before boarding. We went over to the queue for security. I couldn't believe it. Those of you who know DUB, the queue for the security check (not the one beside the bookshop, the other one) went back to the check in desks in Area 8. I couldn't believe it. Then we went down to the other one (the one beside the bookshop), the queue was just as bad. We ended up queuing for an hour and just caught the flight. When we asked why two of the X-ray machines weren't being used we got rude replies from the screeners who obviously couldn't care less. BTW does any other Airport in Europe make everyone take their shoes off?
Isn't it time that something is done at DUB? Why isn't anything being done about it?
Sorry if it looks like a bit of a rant.
BTW anyone know what the LTU A330 (D-ALFP) was doing at DUB today?

Something should have been done about Dublin Airport a long time ago.
Check out my little rant about the monumental pain departing from DUS is. Even worse if you're flying to the US.
I'm probably going to get into trouble for this,
BUT this is not the fault of the DAA, really it isn't. for reasons which i won't go into (it would get me into more trouble), the Irish media where handed a story on a platter about security at Irish airports (mostly sensationalism). They took this story and blew it out of all proportions, what happened in the end was the department of transport got involved and demanded things be tightened up, now you have the current DUB problems with security.
BTW it is christmas/new year too, kinda peak season!
