The allocation of traffic rights to Emirates for Dubai to Phnom Penh has got me thinking - where else will EK start up? Since they have such a well placed hub for flights to and from just about anywhere, for instance with Cambodia, they only have to generate half a dozen passengers a day to each of their destinations on the opposite side of DXB. For a feeder flight originating east of DXB, half a dozen pax bound for each possible onward destination adds up to about 100 to Europe, 60 to Africa, 60 to various cities in the ME, if you originate east of DXB. There's 260 pax, a full A330 and a very profitable 777. And half a dozen pax per onward destination isn't hard to generate.
So when we will see Tashkent, Yerevan, Bandar S-B, etc, on Emirates route map? Any suggestions?
fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

If the Bangladeshi government would allow it, EK would be flying to Chittagong (CGP) and Sylhet (ZYL) by now. Given how it has penetrated the Pakistani and Indian markets, I would think given the chance they would fly to these Bangladeshi cities.

anywhere long enuf to put a 777 down basically...with their single hub many spokes almost any airport that can take an A345 or 773 is viable...

EK would love to offer more flights to Germany, but as of now they are not allowed to. It seems that with HAM they were just too optimistic when announcing the flight.
They are also in talks about flights to STR.

Happy New Year, all!
It's a bit of a long shot considering the number of existing EK services to LHR and LGW, but I'm sure that Emirates could have a good stab at a daily service to STN. Given the volume of world-wide connections that are possible through their DXB hub, I wouldn't be surprised if a daily STN service went down very well with folks from North London, Cambridge, East Anglia and the Midlands who currently have to struggle round the M25 in order to connect onto EK.

Quoting STARalliance24 (Reply 15): Weren't they planning on going to the Western Coast (LAX, SFO, YVR)???
That would be really nice (and EK would get great loads), but they would only be able to use their A345s. Do they currently have enough to operate these routes?
I wouldn't doubt about it. EK could easily take away most traffic going to Middle East or Asia. Also they could codeshare with some Central America airlines and Mexican airlines in order to get their big piece of cake.
