Air Mali stopped flying a few years ago.
STA- Trans African airlines is the biggest carrier in Mali.STA operates DC-9 and Let 410 aircraft on domestic and regional services.
There was a website but it seems it is out of service (maybe STA is out of service as well...)

I flew from Timbuktu to Mopti with my son in January 2004. At that time, as now, air companies were being created and going out of business with frightening frequency.
I recall that when I made the booking, no airline would confirm flights more than 14 days prior to the flight date. One of my two bookings was confirmed 13 days before the flight, and then cancelled 4 days before the flight because a political figure had died and the entire plane was taken over by government officials going to the funeral.
Fortunately, my confirmation for the other flight held, although the plane was absolutely full. All the domestic flights at the time were being operated by Czech-made Let L-410s, regardless of the airline.
My flight was with an airline called Societé Avion Express, or SAE, and my plane was 3X-GDK (registered in Guinea - maybe there is an interesting story behind that?).
I had the front seat and could see into the pilot's cabin, which was at a considerably higher level than the passenger cabin. I remember thinking that I hoped the pilot could speak Russian, because all the instruments were labeled in Cyrillic. I can only guess that it was a second-hand Aeroflot plane.
I would be interested to know what planes are flying these days in Mali.

Compagnie Aérienne du Mali (CAM) has been launched last May with backing from Aga Khan and a minority stake of the Mali government. I believe they wanted to operate Saab 340s.
