Do you think that this merger will happen and what will happen will Easyjet become Icelandair or will they be separate?

FL Group currently owns about 16% of Easyjet shares. It has done well financially from buying these shares. If it decides to bid for Easyjet and succeeds in this, I expect it to leave the successful business model alone (if it works very well, definitely don't fix it) and to leave the management team largely in situ and also to retain the brand name.

So they'll be called IcyJet then?

When FL Group took over Sterling, they put in new management right away. But Sterling was not exactly as financial fit as Easyjet seems to be. I too believe that they (to begin with at least) see this just as a financial asset with a long term prospect. But if they have a good idea, the Icelandic are not afraid of carrying it out. If there would be some changes, it would probably be route changes, so their carriers don't compete. Easyjet and Sterling are competing on CPH-SXF and CPH-LON, no need to anymore.

So, as CPH is my home airport, don't let this happen  Smile

And for those of you who are financially minded, here's what share trading on the LSE is looking like. Stocks are currently up 21 points since the the last close of trading. Looks good....
