DL Continue BOS Transcon After Song Leaves?

When Song morphs back into Delta, will Delta continue the two daily nonstops to LAX and single nonstop to SFO out of Boston? The reason I ask is that Delta tried these routes--twice--and ditched them both times. Is there some magic that'll make it work this time?

I would expect DL to keep the redye model from song if the market cna support it, as it is much easier to make $$$, then a daytime frequency could help solidify the market presence, Id expect LAX to remain, SFO... maybe

It is my belief that when Song merges back into DL, the now-song routes will continue to have a song style product. I think it will still compete with B6s product and I think that's just their goal. The planes might say Delta on them and managment will be re-merged back together, and it will have first class, but I beleive that the messege is there that they will still compete with B6.

Yea for the most part, id epect that to be the case, but it allows for greater aircraft flexibility, such as putting 738s on some of the lighter song routes, and on the N.E. FLA routes in the off season.

I think you'll see alot of the all coach song 757s doing the ATL-FLA and other ATL-764 runs as some of them move to see more intl routes this summer.

Remember, DL said that all fights over 1750 miles will have "Song service" on them. Assuming the entire DL 757 fleet will be converted to this configuration, I think we'll see BOS-LAX, BOS-LAS, and BOS-SLC served with all 'Song' 757s. Some of the BOS-Florida flights will probably switch to 738s and maybe even M88s to free the 757s to do the 1750+ mile legs that aren't already 757s.

Though I believe song service in the future wont be limited to just 757s but some/all 738s and domestic 763s included

From what I have heard, DL will keep the song-style service on the NE-FL legs (who can blame them...I wouldn't want to fly an MD88 after flying a song 757)

Actually, it already has been dropped (at least temporarily) as of January 3.
