Am going to USA on a cheap QF N class ticket, which have just found out is not meant to be upgradeable.

However have heaps of QF points, so am hoping at check in, when I ask they might take some off me, so I can upgrade.

Any other suggestions anyone?

So UA is bad for lowering the fares to the US, but you bought a cheap fare on QF. Go figure.

Does QF allow upgrades via miles/points? Therein lies your answer, but if you say N class isn't mean to be upgraded, then you probably don't have a chance unless you have some status with QF.

They won't, it's N class - too deeply discounted to be upgradable.

You can only request an upgrade on departure via a Qantas Club lounge, so you need to have QF Gold or Platinum.

I think you have no hope at all, to be honest.

Trent.

I do quite enjoy a spot of flying - more so when it's not in Economy!

Yes all Red E Deal / Special USA fares booked in class V/R/O/N/Q are not upgradeable using points , when the frequent flyer program was updated May last year.

yeh, yeh, yeh, being negative again.

What we want to know is, who can make decision to let you upgrade?

Surely someone at check in can sell (for points) empty business class seats ????

Do you even have status with QF? Or just a bunch of miles? I don't think that'll get you anywhere if the rules say no N fare.

He got it !!! Didn't need to use any points at all in the end. (upgrade is only one way - don't think he knows anyone who'll guarantee him an upgrade LAX/BNE, but something has been put in his booking about him being a C.I.P.

think he got it thru a wholesaler who is QF preferred !!!

What ever happened to the old fashioned notion of paying the fare difference to an economy class fare which does permit award upgrades? To state the painfully obvious...

Sadly, I don't think this make much difference either. I am a Platnium with QF and haven't had much luck using points to upgrade on a non-upgradable ticket yet.

Only Q/O/N classes cannot be upgraded using points. V/R class can be upgraded.

No, actually, the Joke is on you for thinking that the 'intelligent' users of a-net actually care about the junk that comes out of your mouth!

Once again, there is not much fact in any of your posts! The only factual information I can see is that N class can't be upgraded... Well done!

PS: I wonder what would happen if all of us over Simplicity and his simple posts decided to suggest deletion! Just a Thought!

25 Wunala : I'm surprised that someone such as Simpilicity, who hates QF so much, and at times puts the lamist arguments about nothing on this database, actually
26 Post contains images NumberTwelve : I had an upgrade on request for QF flight from Germany to Australia in June. It worked . Just know what you want but be polite.
