Yes it is operated bt a Thai 777. Check in should be with Thai. Noth the airliens have a very liberal codeshare arrangement on this route with 3 flights operated by TG and 2 with MH.

We're on the 1920 flight, and have been told to book our seats through MAS, though MAS say book them through thai!

You'd have to check in with Thai - it's being operated by their flight 419. If you call TG tell them you're booked on their flight 419 and they'll probably do it for you with a minimum of confusion
I just took a look and they filed that flight with the GDS as a 333.

yep tickets in my grubby paws! (thought we were flying with MAS from BKK to KLIA as we are when we return but found the codeshare thing!), weve got 4 hours to kill when we arive from LHR anyway (god help us we're flying with EVA Elite class!) and figured business class onto KL albeit dated would be a giggle!!!!
Will give Thai a bell well they open tommorow here and have words!!!
