Just wondering if I can ask some advice?

I am going on a field trip to Hong Kong with my university in April (lucky me)! Anyway, we have ten days spare at the end so I plan to go and visit my friend in Korea, so I will be looking to fly Hong Kong to Incheon. I have looked at Korean Air website but its quite pricey - can you recommend any good websites where I might get a good deal or any airlines for that matter. Would like to fly CX as I think it would be nice! Out of CX and KE, which would you recommend?

Try Thai - they often have cheaper prices than CX or KE, but not as many flights. Also, you should look at Asiana, but again, I think Thai will be the cheapest.

Between CX or KE on economy for such a short trip (3.5 hours), I am not sure there would be much of a difference in experience. That being said, I do not know if CX has PTVs in econ on this route in economy (they do in business) - if someone else could confirm this point, then if I were you, I would choose CX because KE does not have PTVs (even in business).

Support Airliners.net - become a First Class Member!

Try CI also via TPE.

I lived in HK for many years. The best way to get cheap fares is to book through travel agents, as they buy blocks of tickets. Travel Expert is a good choice with many offices, and there are others. If you want a number of an agent my wife used to fly to Korea (she often booked Asiana, although the it was a red-eye) then send me a message and I'll reply to you.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Jetlagged - thank you, a number for a travel agency would be good. I presume that I can book from the UK? Red eye doesn't really bother me - so long as the fair is reasonable.

CX has PTVs at every single seat in the economy section on its entire fleet.

Couple websites...

Currently, CX, TG, KE, AI and OZ all offer nonstop flights to Incheon, and both BR and CI have cheaper flights via TPE.

Why not also try http://www.priceline.com.hk.

You may find that April is a little far off for some airlines to have released their special fares.
