---VIRGIN AMERICA LOOKING AT DFW AIRPORT---
British entrepreneur Richard Branson's splashy U.S. startup Virgin America has named Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport as one of 35 markets it may serve if allowed to begin operating. Virgin named DFW in its Dec. 9 filing with the U.S. Department of Transportation. The DOT determines Virgin's ownership fitness, citizenship and airworthiness. The airline also notified DFW Airport that it may be seeking gates if allowed to start service.

Virgin didn't name DFW as such in their filing, but DFW Airport was one of many airports on the distribution list, which was one of the attachments .....

Wait is there a list of other cities (besides SFO) that they want to go to or are looking at? If so, post. Thanks.

There is a service list on page 20 & 21, but this a mailing list, not a destination list.
Worth mentioning is that if you look at their aircraft utilization plan for the first 12 months, there are no flights with blocktime of less than 4.40. So assuming all flights are out of SFO, no SEA/PDX!

If two people agree on EVERYTHING, then one isn't necessary.

If it wasn't Virgin America, it would go the way of Independence Air. But Branson has a way of working things out and is an innovative man. Like I said, any other airline starting up now would be dead within a year, but I think that this one might work out.

He's got plenty guts, he's going from DFW where he can fly anywhere he wants to and compete with every airline instead of just one. But then again he's not running the airline, it's a franchise, so it's not his decision!
