After many opinions have been posted regarding "if" "if not" the A-380 will fly to LPB from Medellín, are there new positions from Airbus regarding the originally forseen onwardflight Medellín - LPB?

Hello Bongo, thanks, keep me updated please once you have news.
Here the press still goes with "yes" and "no" and the airport authorities don´t give infos maybe because they have no idea or maybe because they have been commanded by Airbus to keep the mater confidential.

According to Airbus last week (i.e before the flight to Medellin), the A380 does not fly to La Paz.

FI 01/12/06:
"...Airbus will not comment on the test campaign until it is complete, but MSN004 is expected to fly on to La Paz, Bolivia where hot-and-high altitude performance tests are traditionally undertaken. During these trials, the aircraft will carry out take-offs and landings at high temperatures at El Alto airport in La Paz, which has an airfield elevation of in excess of 13,000ft (3,940m)."

Maybe was I not specific enough.
I was told (emphasis on told, it's not a second-hand rumour) by the Airbus people who are quoted by Flight International, that MSN004 does NOT go to La Paz.
At least not this time.

Thanks for update and info. Should in the future the A-380 be forseen to fly to LPB for tests, may I ask you to kindly start a thread to inform about that?

I'll certainly do. That's actually why I asked Airbus in the first place.

The Colombian trip of F-WWDD is now on Airbus' website. http://events.airbus.com/A380/default1.aspx
F-WWDD is supposed to spend a week there, so the return flight should be on the 16th-17th.

Thanks for the information Breiz. So the A380 will not be leaving Colombia today or this weekend as mentioned in other threads? Also the A380 will not be going to Guadeloupe or Martinique in the Caribbean?

A388, I do not really know about the French Caribbean.
As said before, Airbus does not announce the test flights in advance.
The fact that it is not mentioned on the webpage does not mean it's not going to happen. Kind of frustrating.

Quoting A388 (Reply 9): Does anyone know the local departure time this saturday from MDE?
It was reported that the A380 would have left MDE at 10am today local time, so 1500 GMT. A388, have a look in 30 minutes to see if ithappens to overfly you! Last I heard it was not going direct to TLS.
I saw that. Th PR people at Airbus don't have the facts right! Not, at least, on the altitude of the airport: It is over 7000 ft, and not 5000 as they report. (They may have confused it with the airport near the city centre of Medellin (EOH), that is only used for airplanes with up to 50 seats nowdays -though it did have the 747 once and 707s, 727s and so on a regular basis until the new airport was built 20 years ago)
That makes me think that they may not be right about the time the plane was to spend in MDE.
