Have the DC-9-10's at NWA been retired yet or are they still in service? This is not a NWA-bashing post, but I would like to find out more information on that particular aircraft with them. Thanks.

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure they're on their way out, and are (I think) being replaced by Mesaba's and Express Airlines I's RJ's. (Avro RJ85, CRJ-200)

They are still here, in fact, in suprisingly large numbers. You are correct, tehy are being replaced by the RJ85 and are labeled "JetExpress"

What routes are they serving? I assume by their replacement they must be on regional or low-capacity routes - true?

Correct, Tupolev154B2...They fly on off peak routes with low capacity. Probably the longest route with a DC-9-10 would be DTW-DFW, about 2-2.5 hours. They are also used on flights like MSP-RST (Rochester, MN), and MEM-STL. They are slowly being replaced with Mesaba's RJ-85s, with the CRJs going primarily towards high-cap routes formerly operated with SF340s (Think MEM-MOB and MEM-TUL).

I have flown them on flights of this type: MSP to HOU, FSD to MSP, and vis versa. the msp to hou was over a three hour flight.

They flew into Wichita, KS until recently. They flew Wichita to MEM. They are replaced by Saab 340s and RJs.

I see them very often at IAD and DCA. They fly to DTW and MEM.
