I am always keeping an eye out to see if the likes of Easyjet or Ryanair are going to start flights to Corfu, but haven't seen anything yet. There are plenty of charter flights in the summer but nothing at all in the winter. You have to fly to Athens and then on to Corfu, or whatever route you choose.
I have family over there and it is a pain not being able to get a direct flight when the tourist season has ended. A couple of times I've even flown to Brindisi or Bari in Italy then got an overnight ferry across to Corfu.
There are a large number of ex-pats on the island so I'm surprised LCCs haven't looked at this yet.

As usual the LCC's do not want too long a flight.....There is not a great demand for a daily service to CFU in the winter and most LCC's like to operate daily to the destination so they can give away the outward flight and sting you for the return!!

I think something like 70% of Corfu is closed in the winter, so there's barely any demand. And there's not many retired people there. More tend to head for Spain and the Canaries.
