Singapore Airlines - March Increases

Singapore Airlines will add additional flights to these cities starting on March 26th..

Singapore - Adelaide 5 to 7 weekly Boeing 777-200
Singapore - Athens 2 to 3 weekly Boeing 777-200
Singapore - Guangzhou 7 to 10 weekly Boeing 777-200
Singapore - Ho Chi Minh City 12 to 13 weekly Boeing 777-200
Singapore - Hong Kong 35 to 38 weekly Boeing 777-200 and 747-400
Singapore - Penang 18 to 21 weekly Boeing 777-200
Singapore - Taipei 17 to 21 weekly Boeing 777-200 and 777-300

I'm suprised by the amount of capacity on Penang, jumping up from 8 to 21 weekly 772

Glad to see ADL going Daily at last Big grin

The airline will also begin Abu Dhabi and Jeddah flights on March 1st (SIN-AUH-JED) 3 weekly 777-200, as most of you know  Smile

Singapore Airlines used to serve Penang on a very frequent basis. I guess they are seeing an upswing in traffic again between the two islands and any increase in frequency into any Malaysian city is a shot in MAS' arm.

Don't forget, SQ is also adding KHI and LHE thrice weekly too... Smile

they ended that service after 9/11...but I know people who raved about taking SQ to Pakistan..

AFAIK - SilkAir does not operate to Penang. Penang and Kuala Lumpur are SQ's only stations. SilkAir operates to Langkawi, Kuching and other more minor Malaysian cities.

Correct. PEN & KUL SQ only and the others are MI, with BKI recently added twice a week.

Any word on increases to Delhi or Chennai. The SQ country manager for india was quoted in the press saying that they were very keen to do double daily flights from these 2 cities. Also Bangalore going daily ???

Glad to see SQ goes up to daily on its ADL service.

I utilise that service at least 10 times a year, and not surprised at why SQ has done so as I always find a full or almost-full cabin whenever I fly...
