I bought my ticket for me to FLY2LIM for an upcoming week off from school. Unfortunately, the transcon SFO-MIA flights were booked, so I had to find an alternative. This is what the system gave me. When I examined it carefully, I realized I was flying in every aircraft type that AA flies, except for the 737 (and not counting AE). This will also mark my first flight on a 777. Needless to say, the first thing I thought about was to show my fellow a.nutters my lucky schedule. Let me know what you think.
It would be possible to fly a 737 on this itinerary because they use it on certain flights between MIA and LAX. That would have been too lucky.

Bit of a short hop DFW - MIA on a 777? Or is that route so full that it justifies one?

I think its a repositioning flight, but may also be for connectiong pax. Kinda like the ORD-DEN on UA 777's.

Doors open, right hand side, next stop is Springfield.

Well, that is the only route I am not terribly familiar with but I suppose that plane goes on to Buenos Aires or Brasil.

When I became an Aadvantage member back in 90, they were the only carrier to LIM (the only I could trust, that is, besides the peruvian carriers) and because of my loyalty to one brand, we've traveled for free with FF miles several times, including April of 06 when the whole family is traveling on miles. We also have the credit card and we charge as much as we can on it to earn the miles.
If, supposing, I took half my trips to LIM on CO (great service, not putting it down) and half on AA, I'd have miles split in half. It makes no sense.

Being a CO Elite, I'd go SFO-IAH-LIM. Besides, customs is much better at IAH.

Doesn't AA have a DFW-LIM flight? That would be much more direct.

Discontinued as of 2/1/06
My itinerary in April was via DFW, using ff miles. My contact in LIM is working on switching my routing via MIA.

I don't deny that CO offers great service. But since 90 (when CO didn't FLY2LIM) I've been earning miles on AA. Tough to make the switch.

She continues on to EZE as AA943. She used to be AA905 DFW-MIA-GIG. It's a very popular nonrev flight because everyone wants to sit in the business class section. Before it used to be a 3 class service, Premium, Business and Economy but that caused mucho problems with upgrades and class mixes. Used to fly to MIA alot when she was the MD-11(1AP 'The hanger queen')

The irony... on your outbound trip the smallest jet you'll be on is the international flight... and even at that, 3 of your 4 domestic legs are on bigger metal than that 757. Not that there's anything wrong with a 757, at all, just found it ironic.

No no. Only 757, 767 and sometimes 777 transcon from MIA to LAX. LAX gets 737 from BOS.

Impossible to get F on that flight. Not only non-revs want to take this flight, also Advantage Executive Platinum, Platinum and Gold members that normally only fly domestic routes...they all want a taste of the Flagship

I'm looking at the AA website right now

Flight 2200 departing LAX at 1:30 for a non stop flight to MIA is a 738.
Flight 2213 departing MIA at 11:10 for a non stop flight to LAX is a 738.

That used to be an AB6 until recently. The 757 is my favorite plane by far of all of AA's planes. That, of course, may change after I experience the 777.

I love this - until I found out about airliners.net my family had convinced me that I had a real problem by always looking out for the longest/strangest routes to get between places!

Well done - hope you enjoy it.

My most interesting 'single' trip experience was mid last year. JNB (KQ-Y class) NBO (KQ-Y class) DXB (EK-F class) MEL (EK-F class) CHC over 48 hours all up! We were travelling subload JNB-DXB and all the EK flights were full so we had to use a back up on KQ via NBO in order to meet our confirmed flight out of DXB.

Thanks Alex. And imagine, if I wanted to wait from 6:03 a.m. until 11:10 a.m. in MIA, I could cross the US on a 738 and cover all the planes they fly. I bet even that the LAX-SFO later could even be an ERJ.

I'll report back after my trip.

Total price, including all taxes and surcharges = US $775.
I couldn't do it otherwise, and only because we got a little bonus at work.

I've done a lot of those "mileage maximizing" itinerarties.

For example, on feb 22 I'm flying CLE-LGA-BOS-JFK

Or, I recall fonly mt trip to Argentina a few years ago (2K3)
JFK-DCA-DFW-MIA-EZE

My best was probaly MVD-EZE-MIA-LIM-CUZ
