Just a quick question,

What was the incident, that the photographer is on about, in the comment for this photo.

Also, why is the leading edge of the tail, taped up.

All I can find is the crash of an Iran Air Tours Tupolev 154. It killed all 117 people onboard.

Nothing relating to the A340-600, the A340 or Air France.

Funny to read someone saying "This is an airplane with too many composites."

Seems like they didn't come to a conclusion....
Either a failed RTO or fuse plugs not melting and the tires blowing.

I actually think it was the test where the fuse plugs didn't melt and the tires exploded causing the extensive damage..... That's the only failed test on the A340-600 MSN 360 I can think of.
