This is my Auckland-Christchurch fare for the 20th feb 2006:

YOUR AIRLINE RECEIPT:
FARE: NZD 43.88
CHARGES/TAXES: NZD 35.23
NZ GST: NZD 9.89 FARE/TICKET TAXES ARE SUBJECT TO GST
TOTAL: NZD 89.00

That's 60 bucks US, 50 Euro's or 35 quid...how do QF make money on my seat?

I feel bad about not flying Air NZ but I have funding partners to keep happy  Smile

QF give you free food and they don't sell 737-300 models but I guess if I try and book in a few days the price will have gone up.

All I got was a cookie and a cup of tea on the AKL-CHC sector on QF. This was in Nov. 2004. Maybe they have improved now.

Don't get your hopes up, a small pie or a greasy croissant is all.

One way yes and VERY cheap for AKL-CHC, I know 35 quid would be a scandal on Ryan Air or Squeezy Jet but for NZ, its damn cheap.

The cheapest that I had was PTY-PHX-PTY for 240 USD on AA, the worst part for them is that there was a mechanical delay and I lost my MIA-PTY; they ended giving me about 30 USD in food vouchers + hotel. I guess that they did not even got the fuel covered on that fare.
