PRETTY! Can't wait to see this aircraft at PNS!
Have some questions, if anyone would care to answer....
-Will this aircraft operate from PHX or CLT or both?
-Have many passenger seats are on Mesa's CR9?
-How many CR9s does Mesa operate? (Any on Order?)

Very cool pics. I did not even know that a CR9 was going to the shop this soon.

Quoting GSPITNL (Reply 3): Is this aircraft Ex-AW? I don't remember seeing CR9's in US Colors pre-merger.

AV8RPHX, thanks for posting the news and photo's. Do you or anyone else on here know when further deliveries of CR9's to Mesa are scheduled as I would think any new deliveries would be in the new US scheme ?

Are the latest CR9s (and remaing 8 on order) delivered equipped with the Enhanced Performance Package or are they all the standard version? Will Mesa exercise any more options on the CR9?

Quoting FCYTravis (Reply 9): Are Mesa's "America West Express" flights still operated as "America West Express" or are they called US Airways Express now?
They are announced as "US Airways Express flight xxxx operated by America West Express as flight yyyy"

It all depends on the routing but I'd assume you'll see this a/c out east soon. I know this morning it is going PHX/MCI/PHX.
By the way.. for those of you curious.. the interior is still in AWA colors.

Huh? I'm sure you are correct in saying this, but isn't that redundant? I could see US Airways Express operated by Mesa. But US Airways Express operated by America West Express? Aren't those "Express" names just 'covers' anyways?

Yeah its redundant and it just confuses already confused passengers, the poor folks can barely navigate the terminal, let alone trying to figure out what airline they are actually flying on now.

The America West Express name is still used in announcements because the flights are still primarily sold as HP flights. The US flights are only included in the announcements and sometime on the tickets if customers book it that way. The boarding passes have the HP number on it. In TUS our flight displays in the airport show both flight numbers. Until we merge our systems however, they will probably still be sold primarily with HP numbers. Yes people get confused. We are supposed to stop using "America West". When someone comes up to the counter I ask them if they are checking in for US Airways and they usually say..."No I'm on America West". hehe I just shrug and say "Yes you are in the right place."

The paint job looks great! Looks better than the Air Whiskey CRJs. The ZW birds have the grey stripes on the back too dark. This looks much better from the design standpoint.
Thumbs up Mesa.
I'd take the awe of understanding over the awe of ignorance any day.

I wouldn't agree... But maybe that's because when I flew ONT-LAS on a CRJ-900 in November, I had an entire row to myself for the first time in years! ...Not to mention it was about a 55 minute flight, but still...

Those flights are being operate for US by Mesa directly, not as HP routes.

My experience has been a mixed bag. A couple of months ago I flew on a Mesa CR7 PDX-PHX. The padding was so thin, and the seats felt terrible. My rear end was alternating between feelings of pain and numbness. Last week was totally different. I flew on a CR2 PHL-DTW on ZW and found the seats to be quite comfortable.
Better to be nouveau than never to have been riche at all.

Couldn't have been a mesa, the CR7 are all in the united system. Maybe on a QX (I don't know if they fly CR7's on that route)
Your were prob on a CR9

I have not been to RDU in a while, so I do not know if they have started receiving flights from the CJ9s but I am booked on one RDU-CLT the first week in March, so if they had not made their way all the way east yet, they will be soon.
After the mereger is complete will they have held onto and repainted all of the CRJs or are they going to sell off some of them? I guess what I am asking is, are they going to have to many?
