I noticed ZE is cutting back some of its OAK-GDL service to twice weekly. I guess OAK wasn't as lucrative as they thought. Or maybe ZE is just strapped for aircraft.

I hope it is the second supposition and not the first one.

I can see a lot of traffic between the two cities and would be surprised if ZE were uncapable of turning a profit. While passengers may be mostly ethnic travelers, they are usually willing to pay high-ish fares to go back to see their families.

Does MX compete with ZE in the OAK-GDL route, or do they fly to OAK from other Mexican cities?

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Every time I come through OAK when the Mexican flights are going out, the international section of the terminal is absolutely impossibly jam-packed. It can't be for lack of loads, but potentially low yields and lack of aircraft?

USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.

I think Azteca might be short of aircraft. I'm sure they will bring back the daily flights during the summer.

Yes MX competes with ZE on OAK-GDL. Besides GDL, MX also flies to BJX, ZCL out of OAK.

Certainy looks like ZE is short in fleet. I don't why they don't BRING MORE B737s!!!! For sure they will use this aircraft for new CUL and AGU routes and also for the new PBC-JFK.

6A will go back to JFK from PBC via MTY; ZE has proposed a PBC-JFK while OTOH, AM has just requested route authority to the DOT for a PBC-JFK.

And things keep getting HOT down here!!!

Probably none,

There's a new open skies agreement happening between Mexico and the US, under the updated agreement, three airlines from each country may fly between any US city and any of 14 Mexican cities.

Only here for the beer...

I don't know how ZE will do it as the new bilateral excluded MEX, perhaps I was thinking on a MEX-PBC-JFK-PBC-MEX.
