I still maintain that the livery is horribly balanced and not very well thought out.
There is too much colour at the back and not enough at the front. The whole design looks tail heavy.
A good design is balanced. I'm fairly sure this one was done but Airbus's inhouse design shop.

Yet another negative comment by GARPD against Airbus. What issues have you got with them?
To set it absolutely straight - the new Thai International brand was designed by Interbrand - one of the world's most reputable branding agencies, with the others being Landor, Ogilvy & Mather, Enterprise IG amongst many more. Landor and Interbrand have been the branding agencies to go for for airlines big and small. Landor have been responsible for Austrian, bmi and baby, Canadian, Cathay Pacific, Delta, Fedex, Gulf Air, JAL/JAS, Song, Varig and many more. Interbrand have done BA, Fraport, Icelandair, oneworld, Thai and TUI. All amongst hundreds of other non transport brands.
Branding an organization as big as an international airline involves much more than designing the livery. If anyone is interested in branding, visit the above companies or Brand Channel or Brand Republic

Nice picture! I've been waiting for this for some time!
Quoting BBJII (Reply 1): I like the new colours, there's just too much white.
I have the same opinion here. In these too long aircraft, like the 773 and A346, even the tail/back colors being beautiful, the rest of the aircraft gets too much white - and that's inevitable. But it's still one of the nicest c/s around.

Maybe he was abandoned at birth by Airbus CEO? Seriously, GARPD, you have some serious issues.... you no longer make statements with facts, just whatever comes to your mind.... Your post was great until you said that.. is like you just want to get on folks' nerves and you are doing a hell of a job!
Anyways, back to the TOPIC... the liverly doesn't look good on the B777 IMHO, and I agree with BBJII that there is too much white.... I think it looks slightly better on an aircraft of 4 engines....

I have to say that I am in the minority - I loved the 'old' TG colours , to me they were timeless in 1973 when they were introduced and they were still timeless 32 years later ( and it was nice to have an airline which still believed in cheatlines ... yes , I know , I am ) the new livery to me frankly looks a bit of a mess ... a low quality rip off of UPS .
Moderation in all things ... including moderation ;-)

Quoting Aviasian (Reply 5): This livery was designed by (cough, cough) British firm Interbrand for a fee of US$2.5 million.
Ah those jokers.
I could have done much better for a fraction (and I really mean fraction) of the cost.

Get over yourself.
I said I was fairly sure, I did not say it was definately so.
And please do explain how commenting on how a livery looks on a Boeing 777 and in general makes its an negative remark towards Airbus?

With a couple under my belt, I am well aware of this.

What exactly have you done? I don't think that a few images uploaded to MAP do count...Also, if you really are in the business you really should have known that Interbrand was responsible for THAI's re-branding.
Besides this, me being Thai myself, I have to say that the new livery and every other aspect of the brand do reflect contemporary Thailand.

I think an appreciation of balance and symmetry in the aesthetic sense is in order.

Looks good. But yes, too much white. The 772 will look MUCH better because its fuselage is shorter... thus there should be less white, or at least it may seem that there is less white, even if they are proportionally the same.

It feels so wrong to stare without paying......
26 AC773: I agree the white is a little much, but overall I really like it (the livery, the aircraft, and the combination of the two). It's subtle yet luxuriou
28 Je89_w: Looks great in my opinion, and can't wait to see her (as well as the B772s) in real life! Thanks for the pictures.
29 Afconcorde1: IMHO, AF and LY also have way too much white in their designs, but they are still all very beautiful aircraft. Thank you Jan, for sharing the photo.
30 Cricket: I don't know on the A346 and the 773 the colours look weird, on something shorter like a 772 or a 333 it looks a little nicer.
31 AirPacific747: I think the rudder looks too small compared to the rest of the aircraft in this livery. It looks best on a 747 But I still like their new livery
32 Linco22: I think the reason it seems 'unbalanced' to some is the contrast in the tail colours compared to white. If it wasnt such a strong colour on the tail i
