Hi everyone!

I went at CAE on October 15, 2005 and someone told me that the A380 was supposed to be coming in YUL around March 2006. I'm a real YUL spotter and I can't wait to see this beauty so if anyone has more information about that please wright them down.

P.S.:CAE is a compagnie making flight simulator for big airlines such as Air Canada.

Thanks!
Benjamin

Well AF will receive their A380 sometime in early 2007. They will use the 380 for CDG to YUL in summer of 2007.

Yeah I already know that but I heard that Airbus will be coming in YUL with the A380 for a visit. The guy in CAE told me that he was 80% sure of what he was saying.

Maybe its one of those Airport integration tests like the ones in OZ, SIN and Germany. Could it be for the behalf of AF?

If it happens it will be first time the A380 will touch down in North America.

Yes...I am not a KIX fan. Let's Japanese Aviation!

Makes sense, I would imagine there is the possibility of it making a stop in YUL on its way up to The Canadian Arctic for Cold Weather testing as it supposedly is going to.

You got to be kidding me... I was supposed to fly YVR-YYZ-YUL-HAV and back in March, but our flights were switched to a redeye via YYZ. That would have been awesome to see the A380 for the first time  biggrin .

If this rumour is true, YUL is going to be a complete zoo for spotters...

Does anyone know the dates? I will be in YUL from the 4th to the 8th or 9th and would love to capture the A380 in action, especially for its first touchdown in North America.

I don't know the dates at this time but when I'll get more information about that, I'll make you know.

Yup! That's what I think.
But if it happens I can't imagine how much spotters will come to see its landing.

In the press release about the installation of the GP7200 engines, Airbus mentions that the A380 will come in Canada for the cold weather trials.

http://www.airbus.com/en/presscentre...s_items/06_02_01_first_gp7200.html

It says "Cold weather trials are due to take place in Canada shortly, where the aircraft has to prove full functionality under extreme weather conditions of up to minus 40 degrees Celsius."

Well, as every Montrealer knows, we are far from minus 40 (it is plus 2, as I'm writing)... But... Is Montréal a planned stop on the way to Yellowknife? Or, is the A380 to be tested in Val-d'Or, where the Concorde once was? (not likely, I suppose; the aircraft would be bigger than the terminal!)

Allo, Toulouse, une petite information serait très appréciée! (Knoxibus, j'adore votre surnom)

From what I've heard/read, the next cabin test aircraft will be used for long range flights, passenger trials and airport trials. This aircraft has yet to come to Hamburg and get a cabin fitted, so if this is the aircraft to do airport trials at YUL, it will be a very tight schedule for March.

An A380 will be at ILA and Farnborough though.
