What ever happened to the second PTY-SAL? I now it was "legally" blocked by Salvadorean congress, but i havent heard anything else.

Any news?

It is still in litigation, although it is an open and shut case for CM. This was just a stall tactic of poor taste on the part of TA.

I dont understand why though. I am not discounting the posibility. I just dont see the threat to TACA from a second PTY-SAL flight.

It seems CM is gonna use the E190 which was going to fly the 2nd SAL flight to GUA.
MGA-GUA-MGA is a very lucrative market for them, so I see no point to split the evenning/morning flight between MGA and GUA.
I wish CM would end that GUA non-stop in BZE, but the morning departure time for a BZE-GUA-PTY would scare anyone.

Good for Guatemala, they needed the second daily flight to PTY, last year I went to Panama twice and both flight each way the Plane was full. The flight is operated by a 737-700.

If they continue to Belize the flight has to depart BZE at lease at 5:00 am, maybe they can do this with the noon flights.

They will keep the MGA-GUA-MGA evening flight, they will just add a direct nonstop. GUA will have 4 daily flights to PTY, 2 direct 2 nonstop.

About BZE, i think this route is just a matter of time, it would be very convinient for americans who want to got their.

And for the connections to KIN/POS (BGI who knows?) without having to fly via MIA!
