The 767 is owned by Microsoft/Bill Gates hence the "MS" in the registration.

Bill Gates does not own that plane, that is nothing more than an urban legend. And if he did, he wouldn't register it with a 'MS.'

He owns a GLEX and a Falcon 900.

I should also clarify, the 767 is owned by an oil company, but I don't know which one. It flys alot between the US (Alaska) and the Mid East.

That plane is parked at Akron/Canton alot. I asked around and was amazed at who owned it. I think Ernest and the president are the only people who fly into Akron/Canton using 747s

Saudi Aramco.

They have many large subsidiary companies in Houston. One of them is Aramco Associated Co, their aviation wing.

That is not their aircraft....they have a hanger at IAH and used to have a DC86....in the last 18 months replaced it with a B762, that is not a 200 in the pic nor is it their colors nor tail number, I know the plane you speak of!

I don't see any overwing exits on the 767. Is it possible that with a reduced # of seats onboard, they're not required? Was the airplane originally built with only fwd & aft exit doors?

Correct, he sold it last year and replaced it with a 747-400.

It was specifically the private jet of Saudi Prince Waleed bin Talaal who is a huge construction tycoon and the owner of Kingdom Holdings.

I saw his 767 in Beirut all the time. He comes to Lebanon so often because he is half Lebanese and is building so many projects in the country.

If I recall correctly, the DC-8-72 was put on sale for quite a long while as they couldn't find a buyer for it.

Since they couldn't find a buyer, it was scrapped:

Yes, I know the MS plane is not theirs. All I said was that the similar 767 you mentioned is owned by Aramco Associated Co..

Right-O. However, Paul Allen, co-founder and owner of the Portland Blazers and Seattle Seahawks owns a 757. I've seen him and his plane a few times while I worked at PDX. He chose the hot rod.  Big grin

i hear ya...here in SBN we hangar a G3, N302ST. it's registered owner is an LLC organization out of florida, but it is strictly used for transporting a preacher.  grumpy

seems a bit ridiculous huh? up until about a month ago, they would only fly once a week, if that. the a/c is hangared in SBN, would fly to MDW every sunday to pick him up, fly down to alabama or georgia so he could preach, and follow the path back home.

how many times must you pass the collection plate around to make the payments on a plane that size! their fuel bill is not cheap, believe me!

i suppose i'm one of a few people that understands the use of business jets, but the need for such extravagance for somebody who you picture as being so humble sort of blurs the line a bit. hell, the LeSEA corporation flies a freakin merlin!
