Got no idea myself why BRU airport and/or SNBA are his favorite airport/airline. Anyway it's definitely a rather small airport. But if you are an Avro fan well U will love it.
Read somewhere here that Etihad might upgrade it's flight to Toronto by introducing a 777 on the route! Good thing for BRU it will be the only regular 777 service if they still decide to stop there.
Oh otherwise Nothing special I suppose. It's definitely not the most liveliest airport in Brussels..

DFWzuri,
Well, first of all I would suggest you to taste a good Belgian beer, certainly the best beers in the world, an added-value that few airports have on offer. I'm not suggesting you to be drunk to start your NBO flight, I'm just making you aware of an opportunity not to miss !
Appart from that, I would say that you should be able to spend a couple of relaxing hours in BRU, as it is a rather "oversized-empty-looking" airport (even if morning hours are usualy a bit buzier), so it's in my view a pro in favour of a thransfer through BRU when compared to competing airports.
Transfer should also be very easy as you'll stay in Terminal-B (I understand you'll be flying from the US).

Brussels National Airport is modern, smooth, very convenient for transfers... I like it very much!
It is also the home base of my favorite carrier SN Brussels Airlines...

Quoting Nijltje (Reply 6): in LHR I can spend hours in the shops in BRU 10 min.
I, too, love to look in the shops, people and plane watch at the major airports of the world, such as LHR, LGW, FRA, ORD, JFK, LAX, SFO, SIN, SYD, DEL, BOM, etc. That's why I'm looking forward to my first visit here!

Quoting DFWMzuri (Reply 2): What can I see at the airport in 2.5 hours or so?
In the eyes of the spotter you might have a good oppurtunity to look for some cargo 74F's and MD-11's of SV, SQ, CX, BR etc.
talking about some "tipical" BRU rumours I heard;
If you heard some more, please add!
Out of these typical rumours we alredy had the Etihad flight, so maybe they are coming out...
CO: a double daily flight with 752 and 762
AA: a third flight to maybe BOS or MIA
9W: starting to BOM from march
JL: investigating a Tokyo flight due to demand from Toyota Europe
