Vietnam Airlines And Their A320s

While in HKG on Monday and the week before I saw two Vietnam Airlines A320s - VN-A302 and VN-A305. I have photos with those registrations on them!

Looking in the database and on my spotting database I see that most are registered S7-ASA onwards and these two aren't listed....

Are they reregistering them to VN-A registrations or are these new Airbuses?

Cheers,
Noel

I was thinking that too, but the VN-A30* registered ones don't seem to appear on any list on the web, I can't find any reference to them!

According to all the lists I've come across, this is their A320/A321 fleet:

C/N Reg
590 S7-ASA
594 S7-ASB
601 S7-ASC
605 S7-ASD
607 S7-ASE
611 S7-ASF
617 S7-ASG
619 S7-ASH
648 S7-ASI
650 S7-ASJ
2255 VN-A344
2261 VN-A345
2267 VN-A347
2303 VN-A348
2480 VN-A349

The aircraft I have a photo of clearly says VN-A305 and it is in the old colours so not a new delivery...

Confused!

I must regretfully admit that I do not quite understand which ac these are.
My only suggestion is that Vietnam Al. has maybe bought 2 of the S7-AS* A320s leased from Aerostar and has re-registered them.
But it is only a wild guess.

All their A320's are now VN registered. They are the only 10 then have and all are still in the old scheme.

I've seen:

VN-A301
VN-A302
VN-A303
VN-A304
VN-A305
VN-A306
VN-A307
VN-A308
VN-A309
VN-A311

YES, 11 but not 10.

Very good info N754PR!
You do not happen to know the correspondance between the old S7 reg and the new VN ones?

Is S7-ASA now VN-A301, B = 302, C = 303.... ?

So Vietnam Airlines has extendet the lease of this aircraft, but maybe not by the same lessor as before.
