Song A/c After Re-merging With DL

I asked this question on another thread and thought that it was worthy of its own.

There was mention of an article in Airliners about Song and how they are retaining the leather seats and PTV when the a/c are put back into DL service. The question is are they at least changing the color of the seats back to a normal colored interior?

I surely hope so. The lime green and purple are worse than the orange, red, and yellow seats they used to have back in the mid-90s and earlier.

And whats considered normal these days? Different colors on the seats isn't good enough for you? LOL Yes, they will be changed back to the new blue leather seats DL is installing.

i am very anxious to know more details about the changes when Song merges, like the specific routes (FL-Northeast?!??! for example), if the buy-on board will remind, how they will differenciate the ex-song 757 vs the regular ones on each route..etc .. DL hasnt released anything and no even rumours are coming to the forum about those details.
i taken my last song flight at the end of the month and i will for sure miss the whole package a lot!.. when it merges with DL it would loose the cool and hip feeling of the whole experience.

Beginning about now they are going to start taking Song 757's to the TOC in Atlanta and "re-Delta-ing" them with the exception of the PTV's and adding PTV's to the rest of the 757 fleet. Also turning the 764's First cabin to Business Elite and May 1st is their "goal" for having all of this done.

Are they repainting the Song aircraft as part of routine maintenance, or is DL pulling aircraft from service?

No way all of this is going to happen before May 1st. Delta has been selling tickets on B764 to Europe all economy fares and probably upgrade the medallions or/and certain fare classes of tickets sold to domestic first.

Very true. The 764s will come out for maintenance following the summer season and get retooled with BizElite.

Actually the pic used in this post has horrible lighting....the colors are actually very refreshing...but soon they will be gone....I heard they actually would be pulled back into the TOC starting in Sept so they will be in rotation for the heavy travel season from mid feb on....

The planes will be re-deployed throughtout the system for transcons starting in May....the final schedule should be out in a few weeks

I actually always thought that a crayola box had exploded inside the plane.

I've only been on one Song plane (And I was cleaning it) but I didn't care for the interior much, bright or dim light.

Too bad they are re-branding Song. In my opinion, it was the best domestic product out there! I got the good fortune to fly them many times over the last 2 years and will miss it.

If I book on Delta for my February and April flights to Florida would I be able to get on a Song plane? I use to use Delta Express but got tired of the old 732's and lack of service so I switched to US around February 2002. Despite the great reviews from friends I never flew Song but now I want to since they're going away. Is it too late or is there still time?
