Air Scotland has flights on sale for:
MAN - Malaga, Barcelona and Palma.
Surely they are entering a very fierce market, ...and they are called Air Scotland, where are the Scottish routes?! Maybe GSM has scared them away from GLA and EDI.
Air Scotland would do well to try and get into ABZ before GSM does, although it would need to downsize from the 757.

Fierce markets indeed!
Palma - bmibaby, Monarch Scheduled, Jet2 and Air Berlin, as well as all the charter flights selling seat onlys (flythoamscook.com, xl.com, First Choice, MyTravelLite.com)
Malaga - bmibaby, Monarch Scheduled, Jet2, BA (GB Airways) and again all the charter flights
Barcelona - Monarch Scheduled
Some of those carriers are very established in the Manchester market, it seems strange Air-Scotland going in as a new entrant, I hope they've got a good marketing team to get some brand awareness.
That said, they've got some great fares! For example, MAN-PMI for 7 days around 13th July:
Air Scotland: £67.08
Jet2 : £111.96
bmibaby:126.10
Air Berlin: £134.01
Monarch £143.60
Anyone know if they're marketing hard up North? With fares like that they should do ok. Lets hope they can be more reliable this year, a one aircraft fleet leaves you open to huge delays.

Yeah, they flew from ABZ when Air Holland had the contract for operating the aircraft. Didn't last long though. Mind you some of the flights were 767s. I think you would struggle to fill a 767 operating a peak flight to LHR from ABZ let alone to a seasonal destination.

Air Scotland had better get their marketing department into gear if they expect to fill these flights. Jet2, Monarch and to an extent Bmibaby market their flights very heavily throughout Manchester and the north west and as of yet I have never seen any mention of Air Scotland anywhere up here.
What is their fleet going to comprise of for the summer? Am I right in thinking they only have 1 757 at the moment?
With these additional flights I can see it stretching their resources quite alot. One aircraft going tech resulting in huge delays will not only dissrupt a whole flying schedule, but with so much competition around on these routes passengers will not stand for huge delays.
I wish them well, they are going to have to radically change their image and marketing strategy if they expect the general public to be aware and consider flying with them from Manchester. The name itself also appears confusing (Air Scotland with flights from England to Spain) hardly the first airline potential passengers would think of looking at!
