Just shows how far removed from reality hardcore union workers are. Incentives for performance give employees a reason to work harder. Seniority based pay and complicated work rules about who can and cannot perform certain tasks do not encourage productivity. Considering those "select employees" were responsible for $53 million in incremental revenue, I'd say it was a very good use. Maybe NW should find a way to use more incentives for more groups.
