What was the reason for the long established Finnish charter carrier, Karair stopping services? I know their A300s were taken over by Finnair along with their charter activities.
It seemed to make sense to me that Finnair have a subsidiary like Karair to operate charter flights, thereby, keeping the Finnair brand for scheduled services.
I would love to see the Karair name and livery resurected.

Yes, I would like Finnair to have a charter operator too, not to be mixed with AY's scheduled services. But I guess Finnair is so strong brand in Finland that many charter passangers rather choose it than some foreign charter operator. I heard rumors AY could buy Air Finland (a 100% Finnish charter operator using 757s like AY) and build a new charter division on it.
Don't remember what excatly happenend to Karair, the domestic subsidiary Finnaviation had the same destiny.

Quoting LordHowe (Reply 2): But they do have - Finnair leisure flights which operates with seven 757s.
Yes of course it is a different product but under the same brand, which can be quite confusing if you don't know it, like it has happened to some of mine foreign friends living in Finland. Changing from AY's A320 to B757 can be a sort of dissapointment... Any other any major airline having the same policy?
