Anyone know if it is Ship 7005, the Soaring Spirit? This was the plane that had the special Olympic scheme in 2002 for the SLC Olympics with the skier on the tail. It is back in DL colors, but still has Soaring Spirit labeled on the forward fusalage.

Would it go back to JFK, or would it fly directly back to ATL? I would think it would go to ATL, then fly back over after the Olympics to pick the people up, then go back to JFK.

No, it wasn't; I was flying out of JFK around the same time and noticed it had the 'new' original widget above the doors. I believe 'Soaring Spirit' (N864DA) was repainted in the wavy-gravy livery earlier and has the Mullin 'rounded' widget.

Inicidentally, the flight had a minor aborted takeoff yesterday (it was originally ahead of us in the queue) and then taxied down the active runway and slipped back into the queue right behind us.

Any idea what happened?

Ship 7001 (N860DA) is operating the charter flight 9775 JFK-TRN and ferry flight 9902 TRN-ATL. Ship 7005 is operating DL15 FRA-ATL today and ATL-NRT tomorrow.

Whoever pays for the charter also pays for the empty leg if it hasn't been sold to someone else.

Turin's runway is 10827ft long

Um, do I have to do all your work for you?  Wink

7005 is doing FRA, NRT, and CDG for the next few days...

I would think the a/c would jump back into rotation @ CDG or it would take some television crew back to the USA who are done with their setup.

Not to nitpick, but speedskater Bonnie Blair was on both sides of the tail, luger Duncan Kennedy was on the captain's side of the fuselage, and nordic combined ski jumper Ryan Heckman was on the FO's side of the fuselage.

MXP is also operating as a 777 until 17FEB for the Olympics.

It's a big building with patients, but that's not important right now.

Oh yes, I know its been repainted, but even after being repainted, they left the "soaring spirit" titles on the forward fusalage in grey. You wouldn't really notice unless you looked. I've worked that particular 7 many a time over when I was on International Ramp.

There's my answer. Hmm, you are good for something after all, B.

Skier, speedskater, your talking to a boy who is originally from Florida. She could have been a hockey player for all I know. What I do know is that there was someone on the tail dressed for cold weather sports.  Wink

You COULD have just emailed me to begin with...or were you too busy delaying more flights today?  Wink

Hey, I was off work, cut me some slack. I did call in some delay requests, just to keep things normal.

Operated by DL? The AZ codeshare is a 777, but DL 84/85 remains a 763. If you are talking about DL 74/75 ATL-MXP-ATL this is once again a 777. I think occasionally in the summer this one will go 777.

Quoting UpperDeck79 (Reply 18):

My logic is there are 2x ATL flights, plus 2x AF codeshare. Have ATL-CDG go 1x DL, on one day, and have the next day 2x CDG-ATL, shuffle peeps around as needed to fill it in...
