Quoting DAL767400ER (Reply 5): it would probably be in DL's best interest to go through EL AL-esque procedures in TLV at least.
All airline passengers and crew operating ex TLV go through an intensive El Al-esque screening procedure.
Quoting Indio66 (Reply 7): How will this work with the Friday sabath (i.e., will DAL fly on Friday nights, if so, will El Al code share on these as well)?
Air Canada and El Al had a codeshare agreement for the better part of a year which is no longer in existence. While El Al does not operate it's own metal on the Sabbath, it had no issue codesharing on the AC flight which operated to/from TLV on the days in question. Assume it should be no different with DL.
The biggest pain encountered on the AC/LY flights involved catering. Because LY is an all-kosher airline, contractually, any customers booked with the LY code were automatically provisioned with KSML's. AC still gives customers the option, and many LY customers did not want the KSML's in favor of the regular meals.

I was hoping for more competition on US routes ex-TLV, but now it seems that LY is just expanding its US network using DL's metal. Hope for a real competition that will come from AA/UA one day. Anyway, being tied to LY with our corporate travel agreements, this should improve my life by bringing back possibility of flying to US and back on Sutardays with LY ticket.
