Anyone have a rough timetable about when DL will start intergrating the song ammenties to its flights? I know they plan to start with flights over 1750 miles but when will that start?

Everyone is pretty exhausted with this topic, but I believe DL is shooting for May 1.

Indeed interesting DL has yet to publish a post Song schedule considering its only a few months away and people are already booking.
Its somewhat unknown what presence DL will maintain in many markets such as North East to Florida and on transcons post Song.

I'm almost positive that DL will continue to operate nearly all current Song flights. I also wouldn't be surprised to see old DL Express flights reintroduced like MCO-PVD and others.

From what I've heard (from a multitude of employees) is that, while they will be expanding to the transcon markets, they have no plans of abandoning any current routes. To quote one "We fought so hard to get NY-Florida back from B6....we're not gonna give it up again".

I'll believe it when I see it. DL has all but forgotten PVD and after returning two thirds of thier leased gates in MCO, I doubt there will be too many more new non-RJ routes out of MCO. Having said that - I'd love to see them re-enter the market...

I'm not sure keeping nor expanding any ex Song routes will be much of a financial benefit to DL.
Keep in mind Song replaced a failed DL Express and mainline model, and now Song is being replaced back by a mainline product.

With DL becoming even more an Atlanta centric airline, I am not sure prudence in continuing a significant presence in a competitive low yield market like the North East to Florida.
DL's Song simply has not been able to drive any sort of revenue yield parity over LCCs like Jetblue, and will certainly fair even worse using a higher cost lower density two class product in such markets.

Ough, this again. Like it or not, Delta Express was not a failure! It was exactly the product Delta needed in the Florida market: A high-density 737, with very short turn times, that could and did effectively compete with Southwest. Delta Express not only made Delta money, but it also brought them necessary experience with regards to efficiency and reducing turn times, like taxiing into the gate using one engine only to save fuel and allow baggage handlers to get to the plane faster.

A mainline product that still will be the same as the Song product, with the only difference that a First Class cabin is being added, and that the planes will be repainted into Delta's regular colors.

So routes like LAX-CMH/RDU/CUN/CZM/PVR, JFK-MAN/DUB/SNN/ACA/PVR, MCO-MCI/TUL/OKC or LGA-MSY/ORD or obviously all routed through ATL, aren't they  Yeah sure .

So Delta should ignore the fact that their large customer bases in Boston, New York, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa demand these flights? What would Delta's alternative be? Oh yeah, right, routing all their passengers through ATL, and again become an even more Atlanta-centric airline.

And you base this on what statistics?
