Does anyone know of a good plane spotting location around IAD? I've been going down to DCA a lot but I thought I'd give Dulles a try too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The parking lot of the New Smithsonian Museum is an excellent place.

Remember to spend a lot of time in the museum, It is amazing with some historic examples of aviation and space: test 707, an Air France Concorde, a Space Shuttle, Apollos and some World War aircraft from around the world as well. A must see museum with a great spotting location. Plan on spending many hours there.

Probably the a good one I could think of is around the parking lot of the Air and Space museum. It sits at the end of Runway#1R (is that the right one?). There is also a observation tower at the museum aswell, which I imagine would be a great viewing spot there.

Is this where one would go to spill red paint on "Enola Gay"?
