What's the worst lav dumping story you've ever heard? I was working at AA when one of our supervisors decided she was going to dump the lav on a MD80. She backed the truck in and hooked up the dump hose. She opened the flapper valve and pullled the T handle. THe hose popped off. She happened to be looking up at the dump hose when it came off(she was a little short) and she wasn't wearing a face sheild. It got in her eyes, nose and a little got in her mouth. I've never seen anyone move so fast. If you think dumping those things are easy, it can get a little sh***y at times.

As a mechanic, I thankfully don't get involved in servicing but we DO have to repair the waste system when it goes asunder. About 15 years ago We had a 737-100 that had an aft lav dump cable broken. It had been deferred and on MEL with the requirement that a mechanic would have to manually retract the dump valve right up on the tank ( after removing the "decorative" shrouding ) when a ramper was hooked up to the truck. Well I had to assist this huge, non-too-dainty woman ramper dump so I told her to hook up the hose and I'll open the valve. I waited for what seemed to me a reasonable amount of time for her to attach the dump hose...and I grabbed the busted end of the cable with a pair of pliers and pulled...to hear a shout/scream. I walked to the open aft service door ( luckily with no stairs at THAT end of the plane ) to see her all wet and covered with shredded toilet tissue and God-knows-what. It was all I could do to disquise laughing like hell.
