Air Algerie is operating most of its domestic flights with ATR-42 and 72 from the defunct Khalifa Airways.

As I know of part of my numerous trips to Algeria, people says that new ATR-72-500, DH8-400Q or maybe in the future, the new russian RRJ could be considered to replace the actual regional fleet.

Planes operated in all Y class are little old.

There is/is about to be a surplus of CRJ-200's in the USA.

The regionals fly mainly domestic routes although such an aircraft type could be useful for Annaba-Tunis or Tebessa-Tunis flights !!!

They even could be used for thinner routes to France (MPL-ALG,TLS-ORN,NC-ORN..) but issue there would be lack of luggage space...
