This is excelennt news for QR fans such as myself
MAD seems to be a success, now going non-stop rather than via Rome FCO
BKK seems to be booming with the middle eastern airlines, Etihad will send 2x daily 77W and QR will begin double daily A330 flights
QR will also begin New York services later this year
Direct Doha - Hong Kong flights are to start on March 26th

Quoting AirMale (Reply 2): QR to Australia ??? Haven't we been hearing this for a long time??? I believe it when I see it.
I didn't say anything about Australia in my post
Anyway, QR has delayed Australia twice. Originaly they planned to serve SYD via BKK, that was delayed. They then planned to serve MEL via BKK, again that was put off.
Maybe they are waiting for more aicraft to arrive, they may use the 346's to SYD or MEL

In any case Qatar Airways is unpredictable because there is only one guy making all decisions. I miss a strategy behind it all. What is it QR wants? Beat Emirates?

Will Qatar enter a market in Eastern Europe before Emirates does (assuming one day they will) ? Cities like Zagreb could generate transit passengers to Asia and Australia, but Qatar should open Australia first. Nevertheless, I find it possible. A320 three times weekly, put it via Rome and there you have it. I noticed Qatar's association with Star Alliance, Croatia is a regional member. Things seem to fit in for a direct flight.
I was wondering if Qatar Airways as a market follower behind Emirates (at least in terms of destinations and frequencies - I am talking about a general picture now) could open some markets in Eastern Europe, which are still in the focus with major European airlines. That would be exciting. Cities like Sofia, Bucharest, Zagreb, Budapest.
B742, our QR expert: where can I find a seat map of their A330s and A300 coz I'm flying with QR next week?

Thanks, currently I don't think there are any available on the web! The only way to access a seat map is via a registry system, which you cannot access unless you work or are a member
I hope QR will update their website and fleet info soon

Quoting B742 (Reply 13): Have you flown QR before?
No, first time with QR and I can't wait anymore !
Quoting B742 (Reply 13): Your DOH-DXB-DOH flights will either be the A320 or EQV (EQV meaning any aircraft from the fleet, but most likely A330 or A300)
Both DOH-DXB-DOH are with A300.
I was wondering if 1 hour of connecting time in DOH is enough?
Thanks a lot Rob for all your help and information !!

Quoting Terry (Reply 17): What's happening on the LHR route??!!
bmi just announcing a new daily LHR-DOH and now just received sms from QR saying "three flights daily to LHR"!!
Are both airlines operating in their own right or is it a share?
Well technicly QR are operating 3 daily flights into LHR...
Bmi will use one of their slots and use their own flight number on a QR flight from Doha which then allows QR to still operate 3 daily flights using their 2 daily slots. The Bmi flight will be operated by QR aircraft, staff, etc..., but it allows QR to fly 3 daily DOH-LHR-DOH flights

GLA another by any chance? Well, I know it is in their plans, but just interested to hear what the crew member said.

32 Avianca: will be intresting to see if Qatar or Emirates will first open routes to SA. regards Avianca
