This has always been my one bone of contention with what is otherwise a superb airline; they made a real pig's ear of the whole PTV issue, fitting them to the 747 Classics (which were subsequently retired) before the -400s. However, it should all be done by now.
The only fleet not so equipped is the 772*, because it was expected that this aircraft would leave the fleet. However, this possibility must now have faded, given that the first 777 is to join the CX fleet. I would expect the 772s to be PTV equipped in due course and 777 #1 should be PTV equipped when delivered.
(*oh, I forgot the ex CA A340s, but they should not be with CX for too much longer. Rumour has it that they're returning to CA).

I thought those 747s with new first class were refitted with PTVs also! See Sprit of Hong Kong 2000! It has the new first class and has PTVs in Y class!

Hello!!!
PTVs are now available on ALL Cathay Pacific B747-400s. The last aircraft B-HUJ rolled out on 13/8 as CX3389 from XMN, with new First Class, and new EY cabin (new seats with PTVs).

I flew aboard B744 B-HUE from HKG to LHR on April 30 this year and all the aircraft was still equipped with old interiors. No PTVs in Economy, old seats and so on. They said this aircraft was only used on regional routes and had to cover the originally planned aircraft that day. They said B-HUE was flown from BKK to HKG for that task, causing a delay of our flight.
It was also said that at that time (April) only 12 of their B744s were already equipped with PTVs in Y.
I cannot imagine that they equipped seven aircraft within four months while they needed several years to equip 12...
I don't trust any statements on PTVs any longer until I hear it from CX itself.
Until I know that for sure I will better book SQ or EK where I get PTVs for sure...

I'm sure that you would be able to enjoy our high quality Economy Class service, with new EY cabin, surely with PTV in every seats!
Except Air China A340s, and CX B777-200s.
I heard from my friend that CX will now start installing PTV to her entire B777-200 fleet. (At first, CX decided to do it after they have completed the rennovation work on all B747-400s, and now, all 744s have completed!)

Cathay's newest B777-200 will be delivered in DEC 2000, carrying a new reg. #, B-HNL.
This aircraft will have a new cabin configuration, which is different from those entire B777-200 fleet. It will use a 3+3+3 economy class cabin layout, with PTV installed!
Let's see who's lucky enough to try this BRAND NEW JET!
